The Shaw Prize in Astronomy goes to George Efstathiou, Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Cambridge, and John Richard Bond, Professor of Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics, for their pioneering research in cosmology, and studies of fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background.
